Form key and pitch

Hi all, I saw an answer to a similar question, but I hope to get some more info.

Themanual states that with loading a sample Form imposes a pitch curve.

What does that mean exactly? The way I read it is that form automatically changes the pitch to the note played on my midi keyboard, is that correct? So I don't have to tune the sample to a specific note before loading it into Form?

I think it means that it extracts the pitch-formant data from the loaded sample
Form is using the Psola technique to do this
