Does anyone else miss having a fully integrated battle mixer for Traktor Pro 4 that supports all features out of the box — without workarounds or limitations?
I'd love to use a Rane Performer or Pioneer Rev 7 with Traktor 4
Very much so, sir.
Very much so.
I've got a Z2 and love it, would love to see a mk2 come out.
A Z2 MK2 would solve all of that problems :/ Im back to using simple analog mixers with A6 and use X1 MK3 for software control since mit Z2 doesnt work good anymore.
Even if battle mixers are not for me and therefore I am not missing a Z2 Mk2 myself at all, I feel the pain that gaps in NIs product portfolio leave. Especially these gaps that had a product in the past. In my case I would desire a D2 Mk2 and a Traktor Audio 10 Mk3. For the latter one there isn't even a replacement by any other manufacturer today. (TA6 at least can be replaced with a Reloop Flux.)
But like with my desired products I don't expect a Z2 Mk2 either. At least if there aren't fundamental changes to Traktors market share. Let's face reality: Traktor is a niche product on the DJ market by now. And a battle mixer (Z2 Mk2) or a fancy deck controller (D2 Mk2) just fully working with Traktor are the niche in the niche. And if NI really intended second generations to the much asked for products in the community (Z2 Mk2, S5 Mk2, S8 Mk2, D2 Mk2) they wouldn't had discontinued all these products without at least announcing a Mk2 of them. It's a pity.
Let's see what the announcement from the July community update thread that they are working on a better integration of third party hardware brings in the end. Maybe this brings better compatibility to other battle mixers.
The Z2 Mk2 would definitely solve this for me as well — or at least full out-of-the-box integration with Rane or Pioneer battle mixers. Either option would go a long way toward closing this frustrating gap.
