I have an S61 Mk3 and an S88 Mk3, both new to me. For the sake of this question I am using either Kontakt and/or Komplete Kontrol in standalone mode on my PC.
I am using Windows 11, and all software and firmwares are up to date, including everything in Native Access (I have KK 15 Ultimate)
Both the 61 and the 88 are connected directly to my PC.
I’ve connected everything, and I’m let to believe that the KK software and my keyboard(s) are supposed to talk 2 ways - whatever you do on one is reflected on the other.
When I put the Software into “Edit View” to see the Keyboard GUI (for Kontact instruments, this is the only way in KK that I can find whereby I can see the keyboard GUI), the Software no longer updates 2 ways between the Keyboard Display and KK Software, as follows:
- Any changes made on the Keyboard Display reflect perfectly on the PC Screen, so it’s fine in that direction.
- The Keyboard responds to the change (plays sound and edits parameters), but the screen does not reflect all the settings
- The keyboard light guide seems comes through correctly
- Sends and updates instrument name
- The preset name does not update
- The browser does not update
- The filters do not update
However, changes made on the PC Screen do not update in all aspects on the Keyboard Display as follows:
- If you turn View Edit mode off and stay within the same instrument, it does not correct
- If you turn View Edit mode off and change to another instrument from KK, it does correct

I suppose I’m asking – should I expect the keyboard and the KK software to stay perfectly in sync in all respects while using Edit View in the KK software? I use edit view as it is the only way I can see the keyboard gui for that instrument and patch (I find this extremely useful).
