Hi All,
I bought a new Z1 MK and it arrived today. However, it does not seem to work on any of my 4 Macs? (2020 iMac Intel, 2018 Macbook & M4 Max) It is not Plug & Play on Mac. I wrote to support but I thought I'd ask here before I ship it back tomorrow to Sweetwater USA for a replacement. I have to replace it, as I used the Traktor Pro 4 serial in Native Access today. Here are my observations:
- I used the USB cable that came with the unit.
Using the same cable, my S4 MK2 connects fine. - It does show VEGAS MODE if you power while holding top right 2 buttons
- Audio/MIDI on the Mac does not see the the Z1 as an audio device
- Audio/MIDI does have a "ghost" of the Z1 MK2, but it is not available/online
- I installed Traktor 4.2.0 34 from Native Access
- I updated the firmware to 2.9.0 (it was 2.0 for what it is worth)
- I allowed full disk access to the NTKDameon
- I made sure NIHardware Agent & NIHostIntegrationAgent in Login Items
- I reset to defaults in Traktor.
- I restarted multiple times. I read that I may need a hub for USB 2?
- I reinstalled Traktor 4.2.0 34
- I opened a ticket with support. I anticipate returning this unit.
- I did this "all over" with my Macbook Pro.
- I did this "all over" with my M4 Max.
- This was a 5 hour "drag", so lame.
- Finally, I connected my S4 MK2 and I approved Mic permissions
- I ran Traktor 4.2.0 on my 2020 iMac with my S4 to feel better.
- Something is wrong with this Z1.
- Neither Intel or my Mac Studio see it as an available audio device.
That's not "Plug and Play". Maybe I just got a bad one?
It looks cool in Vegas Mode. It would be cooler if it worked! :)
