I have 1 z1 mk2 and 2 x1 mk 3's. Can't get effects to work on the x1's

I am doing stems mixing and the effects on the x1's don't work. What am I missing? I have watched the videos by NI and they don't help. I am relatively new to Traktor and invested in the gear in order to really explore stems. But am getting very frustrated with the effects not working. From other threads I have read it seems that this might be an incompatibility with the x1 and stems? Is there a way to connect all the units that would fix this? I also have an S4 mk3 but I am hoping that I can retire it and go forward with the modular units.

You have to activate the FX Inserts for each stem.

Top deck has them active, bottom deck does not:

I developed two qml mods for X1Mk3 and for S4Mk3 with advanced stem controls and more for and with our community. Links are in my signature. That should beef up your modular/stem game.
