For some reason i can't start NI and can't download NTKDAEMON. I've uninstalled everything but still can't fix this problem. I'm on windows10.
Please try this :
Make sure that you have sufficient Administrator privileges on the computer.
Then uninstall the Native Access and the NTKDaemoin ,
Then run the NI reg tool and remove anything Native Access and NTKDaemon ,
( If you want to be thorough then also use Windows Explorer to search your system drive for all instances of 'Native Access' and 'NTKDaemon' and delete it all . )
Then restart computer ,
Then download newest version of Native Access for your OS ,
Then reinstall Native Access as an Administrator .
Hello dariiip, does the issue persist after trying the workaround that PoorFellow shared above?
I hope this helps☺️
Hello folks,
First, I do NOT work for Native Instruments and I'm not an IT or technical support professional; I'm just somewhat tech savvy and stubborn.
I too had this issue and finally (with the help of these forums, which I will also post in) and some of my own digging, resolved the issue. I am on Windows 11 Pro, some basic hardware specs are:
CPU: AMD 5900X
GPU: 6900XT
RAM: 64GB (4 x 16) G.Skill 3200Mhz RAM
Mobo: ASUS X570 Plus Wi-fi
Issue: it started with an upgrade from Windows 10 Pro to 11 Pro. I would launch Native Access 2 and it would flash a message (that I had to film and stop-frame to see) where it said "Daemon version could not be determined". It would attempt to install NTKDaemon, and in the instances where it was "successful" with launching Access to display my products, my preferences were saved and every product said "Repair" with the yellow circle with the black exclamation mark (even though those products were already uninstalled from my Windows environment). I uninstalled NTKDaemon and Native Access at least a dozen times, restarted, etc.
Attempted solutions that DID NOT WORK:
What DID Work (and in this critical order):
The ONLY other option that I've found to work for others is a clean install of Windows, and I mean a CLEAN install, this is where Windows roasts everything that existed before. If you are unwilling to go through that hassle, then above is what worked for me. Once I removed every last trace of NI products from my PC (files, folders, and registry entries, etc.), I was able to get Native Access to install properly WITH NTKDaemon and start re-downloading and installing all of my products.
I hope this helps!
