Need help with Traktor Kontrol X1 mk2

Hello, I need help!

Today I bought my Kontrol X1 Mk2 secound hand without calculating whether they are compatible with my systems at home and on the road. I have already gotten my Windows PC so far that the X1 Mk2 is recognized as a device, there was simply only the driver not installed although it is supposed to be a plug and play part, well that worked! My question is whether it is normal that the tractor Kontrol X1 mk2 lights up when connecting via USB cable and then is dark again or is there something wrong? This problem is not with my Kontrol Z1 Mk2 tractor, it just lights up when it is plugged in! I therefore ask for help! Thanks in advance and wish you a nice day or night whenever you read this:)

Z2 goes into MIDI mode automatically (if Traktor is not started)

You can probably enable this setting for your X1 in the Controller Editor. I do this for my F1's.

Will TRAKTOR DJ 2 work with my controller?
The TRAKTOR KONTROL S2 MK2, TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 MK2, TRAKTOR KONTROL S2 MK3, TRAKTOR KONTROL S3, TRAKTOR KONTROL Z1, TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 MK2, and any other audio interface will be supported. We plan on supporting more controllers in the future.

So no, no version of Traktor x1 is supported by Traktor DJ 2.

Any specific reason you use Traktor DJ 2 instead of Traktor Pro 3 or 4?

Is Traktor started? When Traktor is started it should ask you to choose which decks you want to use.

When traktor is NOT started .. I can't be sure but I think it will only light up once and then be dark.

No the traktor dj 2 softwear is not started.

I tried it with the softwear and plug and play did not work!

Kontrol x1 mk2 is uptated with newst update also

my Z1 mk2 but this one is working and the light is on till i unpugged it.

Well when no software is started, most Traktor hardware will only light up once, then go blank until you start the software.

Traktor DJ 2 is dead btw. Has been for many years and modern hardware like the z1 mk2 is not supported.

My Z1 mk2 is only 1 year old and works very well with the Traktordj2!

The X1 mk2 is older and I bought it a few days ago at a secound hand dealer!
My problem is that I only want to use the X1 to have cue and play buttons to no longer have to press the cue - play with mouse or touchpad. Of course, the X1 would still have some interesting features that I can certainly bring into my sets. So I think it's hard that the Kontrol X1 MK2 are too old for my systems and therefore I can't use it.

My Z1 mk2 is only 1 year old

The Traktor z1 mk2 was only released half a year ago, October 30, 2024.

Are you sure you got the mk2 and not the old one?

Traktor dj 2 has not been updated in 5 years and is discontinued. It would surprise me if the z1 mk2 would work.

Sadly the product page for Traktor dj 2 no longer exists, so I can't check if the x1 mk2 is supported.

I'm not exactly sure if it's the new mk2, it definitely looks like the new one, how can I find out? I still have to try the X1 in the controller editor, then I'll get back to you, thanks in advance to both of you for the quick help!

is it possible that the X1 mk 2 does not work at all with the traktor DJ2 program? what I know is that the X1 is the MK2 version, because of the Touch Bar, that's why I bought it! I'm definitely not so sure about the Z1 anymore and wrote to the dealer.

The difference is easy to see.

The z1 mk2 has displays and uses a modern design. Also is lights under the unit.

The old one is simpler and has not displays.
