🔧 Audio Routing Issue with Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2, Technics MK2 Turntable, and M-Audio Air 192|6 Interface

📝 Context & Equipment:

I’m trying to listen to my vinyl records on my M-Audio Air 192|6 interface and speakers while routing the signal through the Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2 mixer to use its EQ, faders, and effects.
Here’s my setup:

Turntable: Technics MK2
Controller: Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2 (powered via USB and external power)
Audio Interface: M-Audio Air 192|6
Computer: Mac Mini M2 (macOS Sequoia)
DJ Software: Traktor Pro 4 (version 14.11)
DAW: Ableton Live

⚙️ Current Configuration:

1️⃣ Hardware Connections:

Technics MK2 A → Phono Input A on S4 (assigned to Deck C in Traktor)
Technics MK2 B → Phono Input B on S4 (assigned to Deck D in Traktor)
S4 "Main Out" → Input of M-Audio Air 192|6 interface
M-Audio Output → Studio monitors
S4 MK2 connected to Mac via USB and powered by external adapter

2️⃣ Audio Settings in Traktor:

Audio Setup:

Audio Device: "Traktor Kontrol S4 MK2"
Mixing Mode: Internal

Input Routing:

Deck C (Phono IN) → Phono Input A of S4 (no signal detected)
Deck D (Phono IN) → Phono Input B of S4 (no signal detected)
Deck C and D set to "Live Input" mode

Output Routing:

Output Master → "Main Out" (S4 MK2)
Output Monitor → "Monitor L/R" (S4 MK2)

✅ Tests & Results:

Test	Result
Is the vinyl signal visible on the VU meter of Decks C and D in Traktor?	❌ No
Does the vinyl sound play through the speakers (via M-Audio)?	✅ Yes, but only when routing the S4 MK2 input through an Ableton Live track, not directly from Traktor
Do the S4 MK2 faders, EQ, and effects affect the vinyl sound?	❌ No
Is there any sound in the S4 MK2 headphones?	❌ No, no sound at all

❌ Main Issues:

The S4 MK2 does not detect the phono signal from Decks C and D in Traktor (no VU meter activity).
The vinyl signal is only audible when routed through Ableton Live, not directly through Traktor and the S4 MK2 mixer.
No sound comes through the headphones connected to the S4 MK2.

📌 Questions for the Forum:

Why isn’t the S4 MK2 detecting the phono input signal on Decks C and D in Traktor?
Why does the sound go through Ableton Live but not through Traktor and the S4 MK2 mixer?
How can I enable the vinyl sound in the S4 MK2 headphones?
Could using the M-Audio interface as the main output interfere with the S4 MK2 headphone output?
