just recently bought a new s61 mk3 komplete kontrol keyboard. For the most part it’s been smooth sailing. Two issues. 1. The sustain pedal needs to be inverted depending on the software being triggered. 2. Midi 1.0 vs 2.0. I suspect my grandson was pushing way too many buttons the other day and sent me into a two hour recovery process trying to get back to where I was. The midi 1.0 and 2.0 choices left me a bit baffled and the instructions after rebooted were even more confusing. Can anyone clear this up?

I'm not sure to understand. Are these issues related? Does the sustain setting up differs with the keyboard set to MIDI 1.0 or MIDI 2.0?

Regarding MIDI 1.0 and MIDI 2.0, some DAWS like Pro Tools for example do not support MIDI 2.0. so if you are using a DAW that does not support MIDI 2.0 or if you expereince issues with the keyboard on MIDI 2.0 we recommend to switch it to MIDI 1.0. And yes, if you're on a Mac, it's important that after you do that you disconnect/power off the keyboard and go in your Audio & MIDI setup to delete the entry for the keyboard. This way, next time you connect the keyboard your Mac will recognize it as a new device, set to MIDI 1.0 or MIDI 2.0 depending on your choice. Jeremy … thanks for this. No, the two are not related. Just curious why I have to go into the sustain pedal settings fairly consistently to change the setting

so Jeremy… I do have pro tools, studio one and LUNA. I tried to switch back to midi 1.0…. when I went to delete the s61 kk this screen shot came up. I was able to get back to midi 2.0 but now I guess I can't run protools…. AHHH!

Maybe you need to reset the Mac PList file for either device or program if a such exists ? ref. : Audio MIDI Setup User Guide¨and "Issues with the Audio Midi setup on macOS Sonoma 14.3.1" and quote internet : "As far as Core Midi goes on a Mac, a reboot resets the driver. Utilities->Audio Midi Setup->Midi Studio is where you'd delete any midi devices."

I don't have a Mac but maybe the old Midi settings has been saved and kept by either pro Tools , MK3 device setup or general Mac Midi setup , so that you maybe need to reset it ?

I've never seen this error message before.

You deleted the entry when the keyboard was disconnected or powered off, as mentioned in both what i wrote and the article?

Please disconnect the keyboard.

Reinstall the Hardware Connection Service, Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt.
