Traktor Pro 4 won't play

I'm working with Traktor Pro 4 without any kind of interface in a Macbook Pro (M1). I recently updated to 4.11.23 and since then the play buttons do not work in the programs interface. If I hold down Cue the track plays but when I click on Play the track only moves forward for a fraction of a second.

I have found a thread in this forum from November 2024 but without any solution being suggested. My version of Traktor 3 works without a hitch.

Any ideas as to a solution?

Select the mapping in the dropdown.

Right below, press Edit… → Delete.

Here is a rundown of a lot that can be done. Make it a habit of reading the manual like a book. There are surprising things you can do nobody ever mentions.

Sounds like you have TWO mappings for the same controller that contradict each other. Does the GUI button (mouse click) work? Are you even using a controller (or the keyboard)?

Edit: If there is no mapping conflict, tracks not being played is usually connected to not having an audio device selected (no end point for audio stream).

Sounds like no audio device is chosen. Go into the traktor settings → Audio Setup → Audio device and choose something there.

Thanks for your answers. I am using the laptop keyboard as a controller and I have been making some custom mappings so it could well be that. When I open the dropdown list in preferences/controller manager I see an alarming number of strange instances that could well be causing the problem. How do I purge the ones that maybe getting in the way?

As for the audio device: at first I was using the Macbooks internal soundcard but after reading the comment here I tried my Traktor Audio 2. The result was no better than with the internal sound.

So I think I can solve the problem if I can get rid of the .tsi files that may be causing conflicts. Once again: how do I get rid of the ones that seem to be extraneous?

    Thanks for you help

Happy to help. The problem you encountered is one of those 2 or 3 handfuls a significant number of users encounter. The manuals only infer them indirectly. There really should be an FAQ for all of them. In the meantime, searching the forum and knowledgebase is all we have.
