Hi all,

I acquired two Traktor Kontor F1s at a garage sale and like to test them before purchasing Traktor Pro 4 for $150 I installed Native Access and the driver, and the appear without issues in Device Manager (Windows 11). But I am new to this and I am unable to get it to work and I found that I might need the Traktor Pro softrware, but wanted to ask here before shelling out the 150 buck.

Download and install the Controller Editor from NI as well.

You can download a demo of Traktor 4 to test with from here - https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/traktor/dj-software/traktor-pro-4/free-trial/

As Sûlherokhh has pointed out already you'll probably need to controller editor too which you can get from this page along with the F1 drivers if you need them - https://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/downloads/drivers-other-files/

MIDI-OX (Win) and MidiPipe (Mac) and PocketMIDI (Win,Mac,iOS) can also help you monitor MIDI signals from the device.

Thanks I was not aware there was a demo ver. I have downloaded it and installed both the Traktor Pro 4 and the controller editor. Now when I attach the F1 I get 4 yellow flashing squares, and in the small led display I get db. None of my research I found that the blinking yellow pads and "db" message on the LCD display usually indicate a mapping or configuration problem. I'm just not able to figure out how to fix that within the software. And I'm wondering, can you use the software and the F1 exclusively or do you need more hardware?

db just means that it's set to control deck B. Have you loaded a remix set into deck B to see what happens?

I'd recommend reading the manual. Or watch the videos on YouTube by D.A.V.E
