why cant i control the volume of my audio out when using traktor kontrol s4 mk2 as audio interface

first off, I know that I have to use the knob on the hardware to control the volume, but its not working. I recently upgraded to the mk2 from the mk1 which worked fine..now the volume comes through blaring high and I have zero control over it. i sold my audio interfaces because the audio interface in the Traktor Kontrol mk1 was better sounding, but now it doesn't work on the MK2... I'm running on Mac Monterey 12.6 .. any help is appreciated.. . Also i tried to download the drivers but i can't because i get a failed message every time I try.. am I screwed..??
