    I didn't choose either way.

I think we're agreeing with one another, albeit at different ends of the proverbial horseshoe.

For instance → I'm well aware of the differences between these Sampler engines. I've worked with both as an end user, and employee. Apples, oranges indeed. I even said this elsewhere already.

I'm just one voice, but at the end of the day, what's common is that each engine is playing back the curated samples. If it sounds good, it is good, right? Access to good sounding content is what we're promoting here. It's not that UI or UX doesn't matter - but if there exist two sampler engines, and great sounding content for one or both - people are empowered to make music. Which is, I hope, the point.

Per your question: this isn't some fight for survival. You have an opinion on what you want us to say, but it doesn't reflect reality and isn't true. This is the first step in what might be a lot of very exciting steps involving two of the industry's biggest brands starting to collaborate rather than compete. Nor am I at liberty to share proprietary commercial data, but I think that too would surprise you.

Thanks for acknowledging NI Play Series on MPC is a good thing - it is! So are the other ongoing efforts. Why not both?

If we're going to start seeing NI (non expansion) products released jointly as both desktop and standalone, for one combined price a la Akai, then that's a good thing.

If we're going to see resources shared in both directions (Akai releases being NI compatible) then that's also a good thing.

I'd like to see Maschine be able to import current Akai formats. Right now it's outdated.

This isn't the same thing. Kontakt cannot run on Maschine+ in standalone.

I got warned for criticizing Chris, lmao. I'm pretty sure the whole upvote/downvote/funny system was implemented to try and control the way we interact and post on here. Very disappointing that they'll spend money & time on changing the forums needlessly instead of fixing our gear. :P I've seen the forum updated more times than Maschine in the past couple years, if I'm honest.

I got warned too. Expressing my (irrational) hope for a better world was taxed as sarcasm.

Yeah…sarcasm is one of the things they hate the most 😂

Don’t worry… no big amount of money is being used for the forum 😏

The people in charge to manage all of this are 2 (well…1? Since one of the 2 is not even writing since July).

All the other people we (sometimes) see are volunteers or people from NI that intervene here and there when it’s time (new releases, something to advertise, people complaining too much that therefore can’t be ignored anymore,…)

The “more to it” behind the anonymity is simple: they think that knowing who votes you down will bring to personal bickering.

While, imo, this doesn’t change anything. I know exactly who are the guys who vote me down. And, as said, I have no problem in people having a way to express that they don’t agree with me (even if it’s not my way to do things. I prefer to discuss and learn something than to see a thumb down icon gaining numbers, which doesn’t explain anything)

The only thing that this allow is anonymity of the few that use it only as a weapon and the Vote down being used on posts that don’t have anything to disagree with (like help to other users, solutions, suggestions,…).

And I know what I’m talking about. I’m probably the most eligible for the title of “man standing behind his word”. My (sometimes) strong (and therefore criticizable) opinions and my will to stand beside my fellow users often made me gain appellatives of “Messiah of the poor people”, “Village fool”, “idiot”, insults to my parents,…

But…you know what? When this happens, I’m happy. At least, from that moment, I know exactly the type of person I’m dealing with…

Considering you said it's "not a big deal", you're kicking up a hell of a fuss about it.

You prefer to discuss? Is that why you effectively ended our recent discussion by just saying "no but OK"?

BTW it wasn't me who voted down your "hello everybody" posts earlier, if that's what you're thinking.

No, that was not what I was thinking. I know you are like me and you confront your ideas.

About my “no but ok”… it was due from 2 factors: I already expressed what I had to say and we were just extending the thing in a not so useful way…and…since I’m honest and I say what I think… because I thought you were denying what you effectively said just to defend your position (I’m talking about you pointing at sampling as poor and then denying it when I compared using premade patterns to it).

If you didn’t like my ending “no, but ok” (which I can understand), we can continue the discussion privately (or in a dedicated thread), I’m more than willing

But… since I’m “kicking up a hell of a fuss about it”, I’ll stop here.

Even to not derail the main point of this thread for too long (I did it because I saw other people were interested in the argument…included someone from NI itself)

This is not true! I adapted this library for Maschine+ in one day. And snapshots work. You just need to know how to do it.

I'm referring to full, unrestricted, no limit on what content works and what doesn't, all features available, and latest version (Kontakt 8) running in standalone mode
