kontakt instances missing after update
got the dreaded kontakt missing content cannot be recalled after updating kontakt player? I'm unable to click Ok on the error msg window in order to access ableton. I'm in the middle of a very important, time sensitiver doco with a free to air tv station here in Aus… I know the rule of not updating during a big project but I wasn't paying attention and didnt think it would cause this much trouble.
do I need to downgrade for my libraries to reappear?
any help would be highly appreciated
I've contacted Ableton and have a ticket enquiry, and also the same with Native instruments but its been a few days and no reply.

You can not fix such issues through Ableton or any other DAW.
You must open Kontakt as stand alone, repair the issue (in your case, find the missing content), and then open it as a plugin in Ableton or elsewhere.
And no, you do not need to downgrade.
So, first open Native Access and make sure that all libraries are correctly installed, otherwise use the Relocate option. Then open Kontakt stand alone, load the problematic library and see if it is fixed, otherwise do a search for the missing content by using the provided tools:
If all fail, then you have to wait an answer from NI Support, to further guide you.

thanks for your reply, unfortunately im not too good with this stuff and believe my problem is a bit more complex. when I open kontakt 6 and 7 as standalone theres no missing content. I was using kontakt 5 in my projects but when I open kontakt 5 as standalone some of my VST's are missing. I'm a bit confused to be honest

do you happen to know long it usually takes for NI support to get back to requests?

Hello,
this i can not tell. Usually in few days.
What i can tell you 100% sure is, that keeping 3 versions of the same thing, especially when the one is archaic and the other is completely obsolete, it is not just pointless but it could be a complete disaster.
Since you have Kontakt 7 there is absolutely no reason to keep the older versions, or at least, keep only v6.

"I'm unable to click Ok on the error msg window in order to access ableton"
This sounds like a different issue - one that came to the surface in the last few weeks when users updated Ableton to a very recent version.

@Lerodge404 Are you trying to open old projects that were made on an Intel Mac? If this is the case then you need to open Ableton in Rosetta mode: How to Open Your DAW Using Rosetta
