Presets versus snapshots

Question: Before purchasing a plug-in, how can you tell if it’s going to have regular presets you can select and audition in classic view or Rack view, or only list one or two Rack view presets - then require Snapshots where you can only see by clicking a tiny little left and right arrow, and save your favorites as snapshots. These are saved in a completely different path, making difficulty learning to use, in LogicPro, at least. It does create a user preset folder after you save one, but, I found this as a new user really not intuitive or easy to use. Spending more time learning to use, rather than actually using. Seth

    Presets are the "standard" type.

Snapshots are KONTAKT's underlying file format for instruments presets. They offer a quick and convenient way of browsing for new sounds and saving custom presets. When a User Snapshot is saved, all parameter adjustments and instrument settings are stored within the preset. Using Snapshots, you can create your own preset sounds, save them in the .nksn file format and use them in other projects, across computers or even share them with other users.
