Traktor Kontrol S2 MK2 w/Traktor Pro4 - disconnection issue

I use S2MK2 kontroller with PRO 4 and occasionally the Controller stops working, music is still playing and I can use the PC, but the S2MK2 is non-functional. It appears to have light, just that no knobs or anything seems to work. It has light. Kontroller Power off shifts sound to Mac speakers and Power on makes everything stop before sound returns to output on the controller and all works fine for a while. Controller is powered with USB-c to controller. Can it be low voltage error?

    Heyo!

The fact that the lights stay on but the controls stop working is a key clue. While it could be a low-voltage issue, it's more likely a USB communication problem.

    You can try the following:

    • Different USB Port: Try every USB port on your Mac, especially those directly on the computer and not through a hub. Some ports can be more reliable than others.
    • Different USB Cable: Even if your cable looks fine, try a different one. USB cables can fail internally without any visible signs of damage. Use a high-quality, short cable if possible. Avoid extension cables unless absolutely necessary.
    • USB Hubs (Avoid Them): If you're using a USB hub, remove it entirely and connect the S2 Mk2 directly to your Mac. Hubs can introduce latency and power issues.
    • Other USB Devices: Disconnect any other non-essential USB devices from your Mac to see if there's a conflict or power draw issue.
    • Power Management (Mac):
      • Go to System Preferences > Battery (or Energy Saver on older macOS).
      • Check if "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" or similar power-saving options are enabled. Disable these, as they can sometimes interfere with USB devices.
      • Also, check the "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" option.
