Hi all!

PC - Windows Pro 10, Cubase Pro 13

  1. Battery v4.3.0 worked perfectly fine both the VST3 plugin version and the Standalone version.
  2. After update to v4.3.1 everything stopped working? The VST3 don't even show up in Cubase and the standalone version doesn't even launch at all?
  3. Uninstall and reinstall doesn't fix the problem either.
  4. "Komplete Kontrol" standalone version doesn't want to launch it either. Its says it's corrupt warning message.

Something in the new version are seriously wrong and broken.

Please help and please comment if you experience the same issues.

Thanks you in advance!

Best Regards

Freddie

    Hi all!

I have solved the issues! Now the new update of Battery 4.3.1 working both as a VST3 and as a Standalone version on my computer. I have made guide how to fix the issues on Windows operation systems.

As you can see on the picture I now run the new version of Battery 4, version 4.3.1 on my system.

It's about the Microsoft Visual C++ packed that has gone corrupted somehow in any installation processes.

    1. Got the "Programs and Features" in your OS system.
    2. In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel and select Control Panel from the results.
    3. Select Programs Programs and Features.
    4. Find the following Microsoft Visuals C++ packed highlighted in green on the following picture.

    1. Select the first Microsoft Visual C++ packed on the list that you want to Repair. Don't forget that you need to go thru them all that are highlighted in green until the repair-process are done.
    2. Right-click the program you want to fix and select Repair, or if that’s not available, select Change. Then follow the directions on the screen.
    1. Selet "Change" to repair it!
    2. Press the button "Repair" to repair it.

When all the Microsoft Visual C++ packed are repaired it's very important that you restart your computer to make permeant fix and repair the issues.

After you restarted your computer your Battery 4.3.1 will work that are installed on your system. You don't need to install it again.

    I hope it helped! 😉👍️

I would like to thank you all for all of your inputs on this thread. Have a great day!

Exactly the same here. Noticed the update today when I checked Native Access. Ripped this out and installed it so many times today and it still won't have it. End result is always the same, it refuses to start open or show inside of a DAW.

Everything was working great till the new update. It's installed correct and all the files are in the correct location. It scans like anything else with Studio One and shows it's been scanned as such, it also scans with and is listed inside KK, standalone is also present. Battery simply refuses to open in Standalone, kk or even show up inside Studio One even though It clearly shows it's been detected on screen.

It's there, it simply refuses to start no matter how you open it, standalone, KK, Native Access, DAW.

For reference I'm using Windows 11, 13900k Intel system. Battery is not blacklisted by the DAW either it's simply not showing up in the plugin list even though a plugin scan shows it's present. KK clearly shows Battery and all my presets etc but states plugin failed to load when you open it.

For everyone on Windows - check Event Viewer after a standalone startup.

Should see an entry or two about an error happening at launch. With any luck it may list a cause.

If you do see any event viewer errors - post them up here.

Its early - but for those seeing this “nothing happens” vibe - my money is on an outdated set of Visual C++ redistributables.

Pretty sure it's the first one in the list. It's the only one that asked for a system restart to run an application. After I repaired these two it worked.

    Cheers Freddie :)

I was have exacly the same problem after last update Battery. Repairing MS Visual C++ specifically in the latest version and restarting the operating system really helped. :)

This is also crashing for me any time I attempt to use it.

The Microsoft fix does not work on a mac but the issue continues.

Tried to delete PLIST, enabled full disk access to all NI stuff and restarted computer after install.

    Issue remains.

I'm so upset right now. Was working on a track, had battery working great. Noticed in NI that I had a Battery4 update. Shut down Ableton, updated Battery, and boom, won't open either standalone or in Ableton. Re-installed a bunch of times (10?) nothing. Reinstalled the Battery 4 library. Nothing. Saw this thread and tried the C++ packet repair listed above. That did do "something" Now I CAN open the standalone which isn't of any use to me because but Ableton STILL doesn't list the VST, so I can't keep working on my track. It's been a fun 2 hours. THANKS NI! I'll be sure to remember this experience next time I get an "expansion pack" notification.

And yes ableton sees all the other VSTs in that folder and yes, I've rescanned.

OK, can I venmo you $20 bucks or something? That was a very helpful comment!
