No matter what I try i am getting clipping in Lores presets. This stops somewhat, although not exclusively, when I silence one of the three voices. there is still spiking in the CPU usage. I am using Kontakt player 6.7.1 in Ableton Live on a Mac.
I see, then that's the source of your performance issues, ExFAT formatted disks are known to cause this kind of issues. We recommend formatting your drive to MacOs extended (journaled) or APFS (for newer operating systems), as explained in this article: Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats
MacBook Pro M1Pro, 32gig ram, 4TB storage.
I have LORES on the internal MacBook drive (with a brand new spanking clean install of macOS Sonoma and all my plugins and DAW) and it spikes the Audio driver meter in Cubase when pressing a note and then really spikes the Audio driver upon release of the note.
This causes audible crackling and popping.
So it's got absolutely nothing to do with ExFat file systems on external drives or batch resaving or full disk access.
@HarrySound What soundcard are you using? What are your audio settings? Do you experience the samer clipping in Kontakt in standalone?

I have basically the same MacBook and I’ve found that I need to increase the buffer to 256 to avoid sample dropping with some Lores’ presets, esp when played polyphonically. Almost everything else works brilliantly at 64 (using Logic, Ableton, or Reaper), but some Lores and Fables presets (esp those where I employ aftertouch) and a couple of other random things do better at 256. I’d say give that a try and see if it solves it.
