How to troubleshoot Spotlight Collection instrument in Kontakt

I just finished installing the KOMPLETE 14 ULTIMATE Upgrade on my new Mac Mini. Everything is running smoothly, except for the Spotlight Collection instruments: Middle East, Balinese Gamelan, Cuba, and India. My setup includes Reason 13 as my DAW on a Mac Mini M4 (Sequoia 15.2) with 16GB RAM, 250GB of internal storage, and an external ACASIS 2TB drive. I'm using the Komplete M32 keyboard and accessing the plugin within my DAW.

The issue is that none of the instruments from the Spotlight Collection are playable. When I hit the play button, the reference keyboard at the bottom displays the notes being played, but there's no sound. Similarly, when I play notes on my M32 keyboard, there’s no audio output. However, I can audition the sound library by clicking on it in the library section, so the sounds themselves are loading.

I’m not sure if the sample library is properly installed, if there’s a routing issue in Kontakt, an installation path problem, or an issue with the audio settings in the Native Instruments software—or something else entirely. I’m unsure of the next steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue. Screenshots are attached for reference.

Update: I just realized that none of the instruments in the library are playable, although they can all be auditioned. :-(

I just reinstalled India and its working now. My guess is I'll have to reinstall the whole library again.

I assumed since you said Kontakt it was Kontakt 8. I only have Cuba but it functions perfectly in Kontakt 8 standalone using my S88MK3 even when using Kontakt 8. You might want to provide a bit more info on your setup and how you're using it to get a better idea of what's happening. Just so you know the samples used for auditioning are different than when you actually play them. In fact I think those are just audio files, not MIDI, so check your MIDI input configurations.

I believe I've pinpointed the issue. After installing the NI library, I also installed 'CleanMyMac' and ran the app manually to optimize my system. While using the application manager, I got a bit too aggressive and manually removed some redundant NI leftover files. I suspect that might have caused the problem since reinstalling the library resolved it. The only downside now is having to reinstall the entire library, which took forever—oye! Thanks for the heads-up.🙄

Hi @kajito CleanMyMac has been known to cause issues with our products, so we recommend avoiding it altogether: https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/209544929-Notes-on-Using-Registry-or-Property-List-Cleaning-Utilities
