How do we know the proper names to use for NKS NI Resources ?

Hi,

I have a new plugin which doesn't have anything in the NI Resources folders by default, dist_database or images. It's a vst3 plugin. Is there a proper way to identify the plugin, so we know how to properly name the folders needed for the NKS NI Resources folder?

Thanks in advance !

If it is actually NKS compliant - should have the usual payloads. If it is not - it won't have anything.

    What is the plugin?

    Hi Vocalpoint ,

The plugin is ALY James OB-Xtreme 3.0. It’s newer, the cool thing about it, is he’s working on making a conversion tool for it which will add direct OB-X translations in the future for patch conversion. Which will open it up for 1,000s of Oberheim OB-X sounds ;) The sound is incredible. There’s no demos available though.

Ah - I see. Checked it out - and no sign of official NKS on this.

I do know that there are a few cats around here that create the NKS payloads for a variety of "non-compliant" plugins (like Freelance Sounds for example) so that would be a place to start.

But as much as I love the whole NKS world - trying to construct a correct and working NKS layout for a non-NKS instrument from scratch - is not my thing. I would rather support those that possess this skill.

    Good luck!

haha yeah I'm like you, but I've managed to get a few plugins working with the help of the guys around here. It'd be great if NI would make us an app for this sort of thing, like preset magician once was available.
