New installation of OS (chnage from WIN10 to WIN11

I need to completely reinstall my computer and will change to WIN11. Most of my NI software is based on a lot of udates from older versions. When I newly install it using the NI Access where do I need to start? Can I alway start with the latest version I own?

Install Win 11

Install the latest Native Access (v3.16.0)

Before installing anything - review your File Locations Preferences carefully. Here is what mine looks like:

1 - Highly suggest - if you have the space - to set this to an additional internal drive OR a very fast external USB3 drive.

2. These locations are for VST2 plugins only. Again highly suggest you arrive at your own default and do not use the supplied paths with "Native Instruments" in them. The paths I use above are industry standard and you will find many plugin vendors (that still ship VST2) use these. It will make things much easier for you later.

If these folders do not exist - create them. But do this before installing any software to your PC - including any other plugins.

VST3 plugins are handled internally by Native Access and they have a preassigned system location on Windows:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3.

You do not need to worry about this - all plugin vendors will place their VST3 there.

Other that this bit of housekeeping - once everything is set in NA - pick your apps, instruments and expansions and enjoy. NA will take of all the installs.

Thank you for this advice. I already have some of this items respected on my computer. The program itself is located on the C: drive while all libraries are on a separate drive. So for a new installation id do not need to reinstall all the libraries only change the information about this location in the main programm.
