I placed subfolders on my SD card, but they do not show the folder structure on the M+. All the files are there but I wish I could see the folder structure. Any suggestions?

for some ungodly reason Maschine + can only see two sub folders deep, anything beyond that is ignored.
so it has to be Usercontent/folder 1/folder 2

    And nothing more.

    As in:

    usercontent/ZeroGUKG/kicks
    usercontent/ZeroGUKG/snares

    And so on.

It’s stupid and definitely should have been addressed well before release. it is a hassle to get set up for sure, I had to re-organize literally 20 years of my custom samples to suit the two folder sub system, I just took an entire day and busted through it…on the plus side my sample library has never been cleaner but in a modern instrument that completely revolves around samples it’s pretty asinine.

You should have kept your folder structure and properly tagged your samples instead. That’s how the browser in Maschine works. As it does in the desktop application.

Properly tagged would be nice - but when you've got thousands of non-NI samples, and can only tag (manually) from the desktop software, it's a daunting prospect.

It would be nice to have (e.g.) a smart auto tagging system that could run through and tag from file names for starters. AI based smart tagging from the actual sounds would be even better.

Waves have a sample database called Cosmos that does the above - but unfortunately it doesn't write to the files, and even if it did, it would need to use the correct NI format.

The Maschine ecosystem seems to be based purely on using their own samples.

NI doesn't even need to make it themselves as it seems like they got their plate quite full at the moment…

They could just provide some documentation even if informal on how their file format works so other people could make usable Tagging software more easily and possibly free… Meanwhile, you got this:

At 18$ I'd say it's a fair deal and worth supporting to keep the dev motivated.

Thanks for the feedback. I still have many questions. First I use this forum for research or Google.
