Why am i hearing the track play via the main output, whilst cueing up with the channel fader down!

During a recent event, when I loaded a track and attempted to cue it up, the track (while the channel fader was down) could be heard via the main output.

To give an overall context, my set is mainly used at home for radio broadcasting.
But I had a DJ gig where it was appropriate for me to use my Traktor set-up,

I set up my equipment as usual, and this was where the issue began. I encountered this issue once before, perhaps about six months ago, which was solved by just switching the mixer off and on again, but that action didn't work this time. By chance, I discovered that the issue I've described would not occur if I moved the fader up and down before attempting to cue the track.

On my return home, I set my equipment back up, and initially, the problem appeared to be resolved; then, after ten minutes, it reappeared.

I read through the community posts and found a similar previous post; I read the suggestion to deactivate the 'Reset all deck controls when loading track' in the Loading Settings, which would cure the issue. I've tried this, but the fault remains even after closing and restarting the program.

I had not changed any settings, so I was sceptical that the suggestion 'Reset all deck controls when loading track' would work.

I would appreciate it if anyone with experience solving this issue would share their insights.
