Can I seamlessly migrate from Mac intel to Mac M-series?

I'm upgrading from iMac 2019 (intel) to Macbook Pro (M4).
How can I transfer NI licenses from the current Mac to the new Mac most efficiently?

Thanks for your time, consideration, and any info/insights you may offer.

    Hello,

Im also on an intel imac 2019, but don't have a need yet to update my system. Maybe next year.

It wont be seamless in that you do need to reinstall any applications ( Kontakt, Komplete Kontrol, Battery4, and any other apps you own. Everything is done through NA and you cant just copy/transfer those apps. The content libraries if they are on an external drive can be used by your new system, again you'll need to manage that process through NA so your new M4 can work with the drive. If you're on an internal, you'll need to download the content Libraries again.

Just a word of advice. Depending on how much drive space you're getting, its always always always advisable to have plenty of free space for the install process, and more so for the big libraries. Of course if you're using an external, make sure its formatted APFS.

    Thanks, Jojo.

I was hoping it would be, but I figured as much.

My iMac 2019 works fine for music. Video AI editing capabilities are the only reasons why I’m updating to M-series right now.

Logic 11 (my DAW) does have some new AI capabilities that don’t work on Intel, but I don’t much care about those features.

Youre welcome @ccoursey52. Yes intel wont be able to utilize some of these "features" which are debatable AFAIC. I dont care about AI either.

All the best with your upgrade.
