Can I create my own MIDI track and use acoustic sunburst plugin to make this MIDI like real guitar?

Was hoping I could create my own MIDI track, upload into Ableton then load the acoustic sunburst plugin so it can create realistic sounding guitar, including realistic sounding chords. Please let me know thanks as there doesn't seem to be a trial for this

depends,

if you use the patters to play like a C major chord for example, it will have the realistic guitar voicing that you can also edit (like only the 1st and the 5th with the same pattern, or 1st 3rd and 5th etc…) but you are bounded to those patterns, even though there are a lot of work arounds to make it sound unique to you if you dive in the editing.

if you using the melody version you can have your own melody and pattern, however keep in mind that the voicing is not the natural guitar voicing but the piano voicing, so if you play the C major chord you should shift the 3rd one octave up and maybe copy the 1st one octave up, and would be like an open chord with a guitar. On top of that you have to keep in mind that if you want to make it sound realistic you have to know when to use open strings, muted strings, tremolo and the other one that I don't know how to write haha

in conclusion if you have some notion about guitar or you want to dive in the editing you can make it sound very realistic and make very unique patterns, editing the ones provided.

I suck playing guitar and I don't understand much of it really, but in my experience when I try to program my guitars are not the best, but they still work fine for me, when someone good with the guitar or at least the theory of it, mess around with all the session guitarist can really really make it shine and sound super real.

the more you know about guitar the more unique stuff you can do, however, in my opinion, often the pattern provided in a musical context are more than enough.

The sound quality of the guitars in my view are really nice. The "playability" can range from easy to a little difficult, depending on what you want to do. To get realistic nuances I'd recommend you go to the NI website and find the products you're interested in and download or read online the manuals carefully. You shouild be able to get a handle on whether these are going to fit your expectations. Of course user experience is always valuable too and can fill in what the manuals dont, so I'll offer this:

In my experience once I "get in the flow" of using these, (and it can take some time) Im happy with what I can achieve. I do find there is a difference in the subtle nuances that seem to be "programmed in" when a pattern plays vs using the sister melody instrument. You have to use key switches to activate portamentos, stops, sustain etc. What I find limiting with these is the lack of intensity one can apply to some of the keyswitches. Also this intensity, can differ depending on where on the keyboard you're playing and how hard you play the key.

For all intents and purposes there is much that can be worked around if you dig in to the interface and start looking around. Some of the earlier instruments are less editable than the later ones. I own K14 UCE so have quite an array of guitars to play around with.
