Why my pc crash using Kontakt 8 plug-in?

Hi everyone,

I bought Kontakt 8 yesterday and I can open it on my pc (MacBook Air 2022, M2 chip, Sonoma 14.4) without any problem.
But when I'm using Garage Band (last version 14.4) and I add the Kontakt plug-in, I can open the Kontakt 8 library and suddenly my Mac crash… Every time.
I follow all the process perfectly from the download to the last step. I tried to cancel, download and install one more time Kontakt 8 but nothing… Also tried with Kontakt 7… Also tried to download Kontakt player… But nothing… Every time my pc crash.
I reed all the post that were similar to this problem, but all the time there are kind of different for something. I am really disappointed by invest all this money and can't using the program.
Can someone help me please?

@teogfo94 A few months ago some users reported Mac crashes (aslo called Kernel Panics). This was an issue on Apple's side and was fixed with MacOS Sonoma 14.5. Make sure to update your operating system to the latest available:

Hi, even if I paid for Kontrol 8 I download Kontakt 7.9 (link from a comment on a discussion) and upgrade from Sonoma 14.4 to 14.7.1 and now it works.

Updating your Mac operating system should be enough. If you use Kontakt 8 after the update, does your mac still crash?

For the moment I prefer staying like this, with Kontakt 7.9. It has been a nightmare for 3 days to find a solution by my self, after paying 300€.
In any case thanks for answering my message in the community.

I’m on the verge of giving up on Native Instruments. Every time I open Komplete Kontrol, it crashes my entire project. It even crashes when I run it in standalone mode. I’ve followed all the instructions, tried removing plugins, and attempted every fix I could find, but the problem persists.

Surely, there must be a way to completely uninstall everything and reinstall from scratch? Right now, I’m on an M1 Max running macOS 14.7.1. Has anyone managed to solve this? I’d really appreciate any advice or guidance. 🙏

The original post was about Kontakt 8 and the whole Mac crashing. It seems that your symptoms are quite different. It would have been better to make your own post explaining your issue in more details.
