Guitar Rig 7 Output Randomly Fails

Hi there,

I'm using Guitar Rig LE 7.0.2 as an insert on an Instrument Track in Cubase 13, and after a random period of time the output stops working. I think I may have isolated the issue to Fire Seeker, although other components could be contributing. The Dirty Metal preset for example only works for a few seconds, or maybe a minute or two, and then falls silent even though the input meters are still active.

To get it working again I have to swap out Fire Seeker with something else and then switch all the components off and on again, or otherwise change to another preset and back again.

Any ideas what might be going on?

Thanks,

Chris

    Hi Jeremy,

Windows 11, ASIO4ALL v2.15, using various buffer sizes.

I noticed the other day that for some reason an additional WDM Device (Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer) was enabled in ASIO4ALL, which I suspect was conflicting with the Realtek USB Audio. I disabled it, and today I haven't been able to reproduce the issue as readily. After experimenting with toggling the devices in ASIO4ALL for a while, it seems that this might have been the culprit.

I'll keep testing just to confirm, however it seems very odd that out of all the VSTs I'm using, the only thing being affected by this is that one amp model in Guitar rig. Or is there something unusual about that amp that makes this entirely plausible?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Hey Chris, sorry to stumble upon your post so late after. Could you give us a few more details? Like what's your operating system and your audio settings?

Yes, I agree that this is rather weird but we've seen weirder issues with weirder fixes :)
