Kontakt 3rd party patches on Maschine+ ?

Hey everyone, has someone here found a way to install third-party non-drm Kontakt libraries in the Maschine+ SD card user folder so that they actually show up?

I have a full version of Kontakt 6/7 through Komplete in my Native Access account but can’t run any of my patches (including old sample CD libraries that were personal conversions) on Maschine+ (Monark user patches work perfectly fine)

Is there a preferred format (everything in one file vs. patches plus extra sample folder) for Kontakt patches on Maschine+ ?

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Being not much of a Kontakt user, I have the same questions.

What I can tell you is:

M+ is still on Kontakt 6, so you must use that version on the desktop to prepare the instruments.
I managed to convert a very old freeware spieluhr instrument to work on the M+. But that was three years ago and I forgot the procedure.
Several M+ power user reported here on the forum that they use custom Kontakt instruments, for example from Pianobook. Maybe a dedicated search for that will give more hints.

There were a couple of threads on how to get Reaktor Ensembles and Kontakt Instruments running on the M+ during the months after it’s launch. But that was on the old forum, which was deleted by NI. Maybe you can find them in the Internet Wayback Machine. Like this thread:

Though I rather put them on the SD card in the User Content directory, e.g.:

Native Instruments/User Content/Kontakt/<instrument>

Not sure I'd call myself a "power user", but I've gotten stuff from pianobook to work. It's been a long time. I vaguely remember needing to save the patch so the sounds were in a folder relative to the nki file? There was some option to save the file with the sounds embedded. That didn't work.

I think people try to overcomplicate things. I don't think M+ is all that picky about where you store stuff. I just copied the files over to a usb stick and plugged it in.

I don't think it actually cares that kontakt stuff is placed in a folder called "kontakt". I named it that way because it makes it easier for me to know what's in the kontakt folder:

I don't think all of those worked. That silly one at the bottom was causing all sorts of issues. I think "Soft Hammer" was pianobook.

The one under "Test" was built by recording samples from one of my synths and building my own kontakt instrument. In this case, it was a synthesized 808 from my microfreak.

It's not something I've actually used beyond testing to make sure it worked; but it worked.

Kontakt and M+ is a struggle between "Can I do this?" and "Would I even use this?". If I need more than 2 pages of knobs; I should probably use a computer, monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc. When I was playing around building stuff in kontakt, it was like, "and on page 7, I'll add…."

The same goes for reaktor. I've built stuff and try to limit myself to just 8 knobs. If I need more than that; then I should probably use a computer. I've built a lot of stuff in reaktor while knowing I won't use it. Reaktor is just so much fun though. lol.
