like I said, i now have a solution and thanked everyone

As well…I have asked for links to spotify etc Would love to hear what you do?

    BTW"

How often do you build patches from scratch or deeply edit? ie unique sounds from the same synth engine?

how many times do you change pickups on a 57 strat?

no, exclusively Cubase or Live according to need but it does look great and would have totally appealed to me 30 years ago for sure

There is nothing that does what Absynth does. There is not a new version of something else that does that. And I believe the code is up-datable and up-gradable to current standards. That's why I've made the case for bringing it up to date.

And no, the original author can't work on it. He might be prevented by legal agreements. He might be unable to be compensated for his time unless there is a new legal agreement. Whatever the case, saying that he's not working on it is the reason it is "ancient" is disingenuous.

Some things CAN be updated. And maybe they SHOULD, even if you disagree with that. Fine, disagree. You do you, but calling everything you don't use "ancient" is unfair and wrong.

Actually @BIF, a great perspective ...from obviously someone who actually used the engine and edited it...vs preset surfing. It is unique and that's the point…not only unique but brilliant topograhphy and implementation...a masterpieces to anyone who looks under the hood ;-)

I agree - I still open up patches in Absynth that sound like nothing else - so complex and full of interest

Plus NI missed a trick in ending one of the few synths that could do surround sound at a time where it is finally becoming more mainstream
