We are 2 DJs and want to synchronize our set. We each work with Traktor Or 4 and the S2Mk3 controller. We would now like to synchronize these 2 sets. What do we have to do? Midi or Ableton Link?
Thanks for your answers.
Maybe the program ipMIDI is an option for you.
or synchronize both BPM/TEMPO yourself😆
If I want to synchronize 2 Traktor applications on 2 different computers via Ableton Link, is it still not possible to set the master tempo from a deck? I can only change the master tempo. But I want to mix normally in the DJ workflow (e.g. master channel deck B) and the tempo is passed on to everyone in the link session. For example, if I connect Algoriddim Pro to Ableton Link, I can send every tempo change of the decks of running tracks in SYNC mode to Traktor. On the other hand, I can't change the tempo of the decks in Traktor when the link is active. Does this not work?
If you use Ableton Link a single deck cannot be tempo master anymore. In my eyes this makes the Link feature pretty much useless.
Is there no way to change that somehow? It also works with Algoriddim Pro, where every deck can change the speed. This should be standard if you integrate Ableton Link.
Unfortunately there is no way to change this - at least for us users. It is built this way by NI and only NI can change this behaviour with an update to Traktor. I really would appreciate another behaviour of Traktor while using Link too.
when I'm extremely bored. I'll try adding the option to send MIDI information from S3Mod to a server. This experiment would be interesting. but not this year
edit: I think I could implement the idea with QML/JS. My tests show that I can connect to the server via QML. I'll tackle that next year.
edit: Here is some good information about connecting to a server. I'm curious to see whether everything works out as desired.🙂
