Change from S2 Pro 3 to S4 Pro 4

Hi, I have two questions.

  1. I want to sell my Kontrol S2 and get a used S4. I understand, that I have to provide a Transfer ID for the S2 buyer and need a Transfer ID for used S4. Without a Transfer ID I cannot activate the used S4, right? What if I bought an S4 and won't receive a Transfer ID for any reason?
  2. With the S2 I use Traktor Pro 3. What is the suggested procedure to connect my installation with the S4 und update to Pro 4 (the used S4 is sold with Pro 4).

    On the first question, yes you'll provide the transfer ID. According to this article the buyer will get the software and you'll also retain a copy - https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/210288845-Buying-or-Selling-a-Native-Instruments-Product-Second-Hand. I'd suggest contacting any seller to check that they'll provide the Transfer ID.

    I'm not sure if you'd get a TP3 or TP4 licence with a used S4, you'd need an official comment on that which @Jeremy_NI can probably help with.

    Thanks a Lot! I understand, that I'll keep my software version which I bought with the hardware (TP3). The S4 seller told me, that the S4 is going to be sold with TP4. That means to me, I will receive TP4 after connecting the S4 to my account via Transfer ID.

    Sorry but I want to make Sure, that I do not spend to much money and have to buy an update to TP4 on top.
