Traktor S4 MK3 Pitch
Hello,
I already made a request a few years ago because of the ability to change the pitch in tt mode.
Right now if it is needed I switch to jog mode (which has a higher pitch setted) adjust the pitch and go again back to tt mode.
This is working but a dirty workaround.
So please it would be so great to change the pitch to 8/10/20/50 percent, like a modern turntable and not and old technics 1210.
So please this is just a software limitation, would be great if this can be done.
And I know there are so much people out there which don’t buy your product because of this.
And if I knew this before I bought it I’m quite sure I hadn’t.
For me if it was clear that the pitch can be changed in our times.
Your product is really great but this a big nogo.
Thank you and hope you are able to help me.
Thanks.

Nobody? Nothing from NI?

This was one of the first requests when the S4 came out.
There are newer bugs/requests that have been addressed in the meantime. This one? No.
Must have really low priority.
Don't expect this to get fixed.
Edit: I fixed your title (Mk3).

Thanks for replying.
And as I said, this was the first what I did after buying. I thought about to bring it back, but found then a solution which lets me play all my tracks.
But as I said above this is just a workaround , switching to jog adjusting and back to make the fine adjustments.
But in jog mod I can’t work like on turntables, so it’s no good solution.
So please what we can do?If it helps, I know there are a lot people out there which don’t buy your product because of this little detail.
It’s as I said only a software limitation and that’s really sad, just because a software developer thought he wants to simulate a 1210.As I said the product is nearly perfect but that’s a thing that I can’t understand.
and believe me people which buy your product because of the tt mode want this feature.0 -
It’s totally true, I use jog mode to change pitch too !!! Not very handy but it helps , another thing that annoys me is almost the same when using time code - change pitch while timecode plays in relative mode and when pitch fader is up to maximum on turntable I’m switching to internal mode on my z2 , then I can shift fader to its 0 position and after that I go back to relative mode and do it again for extra long pitching , the only problem in this method is two sings : if deck was master its loose it , second - if change mode from relative to internal and immediately go back it can not accept pitch change and can reset it , you must change mode to internal , wait 3-5 seconds and than you can go back to relative and it will work , I don’t know why , its so frustrating so some times I think the dances with tt mode in s4 is some kind of not bad , but definitely they both are not handy at all

Yes please it would be the best to get as much people as possible in this discussion to help NI to make the correct decision and change this limitations.
This are limitations which will disturb anyone who buys the s4mk3 as real turntable alternative and they don’t want to use the s***** sync mode.So please help me to help us.

To copy the only bad thing from the 1210 which let the people move away from them is not a wise decision.
Also technics changed this on newer products.0 -
Hello NI this needs to be addressed or a comment at least..

Check this post:
—> s4 mk3 tt mode pitch range/improve haptic
and the whole subforum
Those are from the archive of the old forum and show a whole series of user observations and requests going back to 2019.
So i am going to rain on your parade. Not a chance you will see an improvement, or even a reaction by NI admitting to no plans for an improvement. Don't waste your capacity to be shocked by something surprising on this, because it is not.
Besides, a lot has changed in the years. NI now is not NI then.

Yes i know what you mean but for me it’s to important to not try to change this behavior.
The truth is even if I love traktor my next controller want be a native instrument if this will not be changed…. (Or maybe I switch to turntables with timecode)Sad if NI won’t improve this because as i said it should be a basic function for tt mode…..
I wanted to try it again to solve this because i have the feeling last time i gave it up to quickly.
It’s disappointing….

Yes, but don't get your hopes up. NI has never surprised me regarding fixes for longstanding bugs, unless the uproar was hard and long (years). Don't hang your fortunes and wellbeing on this one feature but find a workaround. This company has the tendency to leave many things unfinished when the profit margins are low. It's a business. Keep posting your gripes if it helps you. NI crew may kick it up the ladder. But nothing will come down. It's always about the shiny new thing (now it's stems) and it's integration into the old and cumbersome legacy code. 😉
