Hiss sound with mic

Hello all. I hope you are all doing well. I have a question which pertains to screen capture and more so mic input levels and 'hiss' sounds. I have NI komplete audio 6 interface connected via USB to my pc. I have a Rode pod mic connected to the front of my interface into input 1 via XLR (good quality cable). I am wanting to record screen capture. When I increase the input gain to 100 percent (I have to because the voice coming through the mic is very low) I get allot of 'hiss' sounds or white noise as they say. I have everything disconnected from the pc that is not needed , monitors are turned off, pc power plug is on its own plug. I feel in Cubase 13 pro I have to increase the mic volume to full to get a decent level , but again when its at this level I still get white noise and 'hiss' . The only way I can remove it is by adding a plugin in the channel but I want to know if theres something else thats wrong . Is it my interface ? not enough pre-amp power to boost signal to cubase or what ?

It sounds like the input is set to the wrong impedance setting Line/Instr. If you're coming in XLR you should be on Line level. Don't quote me on that as I've never used an Audio 6, but look at your documentation. That mic is probably sending a Mic level signal which is very low.
