And who says the next ‘minor’ feature update or ‘mayor’ version upgrade (3.1…? 4.0…?) has the same timespan as version 2.0 to 3.0 had…? Maybe we have to pay this amount every year to get the latest additions to the software. Perpetual licensing, but with a subscription-like revenue stream.

The internet is currently in full “Bash Mode” over the 3.0 update. 75 % of the users don’t like the update, and 25% have something positive to say. Don’t fool yourself NI, the internet 🛜 is on yall ass FrFr. Y’all kinda dug yourself in a deeper hole. I think the fact that there is a charge for the update angers 90% of users because of the time (10years) and during all that time this is the end result? Wow is what the internet is saying. Just my 2 cents. Maybe be apologetic to some extent. NI, please think about having a different attitude/posture towards your loyal users. If user’s have a suggestion, just implement it and keep moving. New sounds a jus that, sounds, no one really cares. Every user has gigs to terabytes of sounds that they don’t use, or perhaps probably haven’t heard once. I have Collectors Edition, and I still have 21 plug ins that I’ve yet to install. Guys (product/development teams) call around and ask what consumers want. Because NI now is the “Old People” music production software.

Nah… I has a sense of humor and can be quite sassy myself on occasion ;)

Me personally, I'd LOVE support for various screen resolutions but, I also understand (and appreciate) an audio company's commitment to their products sounding superb for everyone (ants and eldritch alike) over focusing on aesthetics that only a portion of their customer base would truly enjoy and appreciate.

Interesting point made. Could you then share the results from a couple of recent polls in absolute numbers?

I watched a few videos and observed that some ideas identified from them for future firmware could be MPE and Poly aftertouch support, resizable GUI window, options for colour and contrast by user, export audio in same formats as import, time stretching, mp4 video playback, tighter integration with MK3 keyboards and new performance FXs etc.

Yes i agree but why not wait and add those features and then go to 3.0 and charge idk$49-$99.. what we all have seen in the past 12 years is incremental updates such as 2.15.1 -2.15.3 .. and so on.. should have waited. It turns off on the fence customers and die cards stay but they won't upgrade

I think users have a right to be frustrated if we have yet to accommodate a specific feature request - of course. Even updating Maschine 2 4-5 times a year as we have, sometimes with new features, not everyone was happy with.

But I'd encourage you not to assume figures like 75% and 90% are accurate. I'm not sure what posture you're after towards our loyal users → we've literally just built and released some of the most-requested features and intend to release more in .dot updates.

Additionally, you would be right to say that not everyone wants new sounds. You would be incorrect to say "no one really cares" about them, though. This is why we made both Maschine 3 software, and Maschine Central library available separately as well as together.

It's also essential for finger-drummers who want to play their melodic sample-chops and basslines alongside the drums!

I'm so easily manipulated. Seeing NI guys in these threads gives me more hope than anything else they could do.

…though I won't really care until the M+ firmware update. Until then, I'm off in a corner shaking my fist at people as they pass by.

I think users can see that NI has (by choice or not?) very limited bandwidth to improve Maschine, whether we like that or not.

It just seems bizarre that 3.0 is announced as a major new release whereas the actual release content is extremely modest, to say the least. Previous 2.x releases have included the Audio module, Auto-sampling, Clips, all features that have had massively more impact on Maschine’s capability than 3.0.

The price charged for 3.0 is not extortionate, but I suspect most users would have preferred a real substantial x.0 release for twice the price.

So let me get this straight.. $29 for the long and eagerly awaited update for basically a (divisive) skin change, a late to the party stem mode, mp3 import 15 years late, a few midi tools and other small features?

I didn't have high expectations.. needless to say, even my low ones weren't met.

Maschine is dead under it's current leadership.💀

Welcome to the forum, @BOOM BAP XL ! Hopefully you're here to stay and add feedback.

The current leadership (hello) is trying to bring major version focus back to Maschine after some years of… not that. We intend to iterate on Maschine, and I hope you'll see some of that as soon as the next few weeks.
