Dialog box say 'In order to sucessfully finish installation, please locate xxx library folder on your system. What is a library folder? What distinguishes it from any other folder. When I select 'Native Instruments' it says 'That path is invalid, please 'read how to fix this'. That link makes a selection 'light version', 'dark version'. Which do I have? How to tell? I assume light means light window background???

Hi. Native Access does at least 2 things regarding getting a product installed; add serial numbers, and download products. And there are 2 ways that products can be "installed".

Products obtained from NI will most likely use NA to add the serial number AND download and install the product. However, sometimes products from other venders may need to have the serial number registered in NA (products that can work in the free Kontakt Player for example) so that they will work in Kontakt, but the product is downloaded by some other method outside of NA (like via a download link, Pulse downloader, etc.).

If product is NA Downloaded —— For the products that are to be downloaded and installed via NA it should be straightforward (assuming NA works properly)…
    1) Select "Add Serial" in NA and provide the number. NA should then add the product to the list of products, with an "Install" button showing.
    2) Then, be sure to go to the Preferences and under "File Management" make sure the install path (typically labelled "Current Location" for libraries) is set to where you want the content installed. If you typically want your libraries organized by vendor, for example, you will always need to check this before installing.
    3) After registering your product serial in NA the product should show in the list of products. There should be an "Install" button associated with the product, which will download and install the product at the location just specified.

If product is Not NA Downloaded —— For some 3rd party products that are to be registered in NA but downloaded outside NA…
    1) Download your product via the instructions from the product vendor, and install it where you want it (unzip files to a location, for example).
    2) Select "Add Serial" in NA and provide the product serial number. NA should add the product to the list of products, with a "Locate" button showing.
    3) Use the "Locate" button to browse for the location where you downloaded your library.

I hope that is helpful. :)
