Setup with X1 MK3 and Z1

My question is, which one is the correct setup?

Both are, though the second setup is a little bit safer, since you can disconnect the x1 without interrupting running audio.

Note: the x1 on the second picture is a mk2, which has no usb hub anyway, but it also works with mk3 of course.
