Does NI offer discounts or free software downloads when system is not compatible with newer versions

I dusted off my Traktor Pro S2 MK2 after not using it for some time. After reading numerous discussion threads, it turns out the S2 is not compatible with MacBooks older than 10. I learned I have to download the S4 software.

My question is does NI offer free downloads to those who have already purchased a (new) Traktor to update the software? I would like to download it to my new computer. I originally downloaded the software on a computer that doesn't work anymore. I would love to use the Traktor again and I already paid so much for it even if it was several years ago.

when I understand you right, you now want a TraktorPro4 for free, because you had paid for an older version, which doesn´t work anymore on your Macbook (fyi I don´t know anything about Mac-hardware) ?

that never will happen at NI, because Pro4 has new functions etc., the only thing that´s possible is to upgrade f.e from Pro3 to Pro4 for a lower price (so-called update-price). As I started with Pro3, I don´t know if there is an update-price from Pro2 → Pro4. To find that out, simply log in at the NI-page, put Pro4 into the basket, go to basket and normally it´ll show if Update or Full plus the price

you also can go to the support-chapter at NI-page and download the old Traktor-software for what you paid in the past - you have to look/read if it works with you Macbook

What traktor software do you currently have? Traktor Pro 2 or Pro 3?

If you have pro 3 that should work on modern mac os laptops as well.

Within major versions (2.x, 3.x and 4.x) you can freely update. You can upgrade from version 2.x to version 3.x at a discounted price. As 3.x is EOL i don't think you can upgrade from 2.x to 4.x.

If you buy 4.x you can update to all upcoming minor (i.e. 4.1, 4.2, etc.) and hotfix releases (4.0.1, 4.0.2, etc) for free.

An upgrade from Traktor Pro 2 to Traktor Pro 4 is also possible, but the discount price is then 104€.

I guess we have to figure out what the OP means first.

As far as I can see there is no hardware called "Traktor Pro S2 MK2"
It makes no sense at all that an older version of the hardware or software wouldn't be compatible with older Mac OS versions, but newer ones would be.

Please try to figure out what hardware you have exactly, and what the actual problem is.

Hi, Was originally with Traktor Pro 2, and it gave access to Traktor Pro 3 (no extra cost). Then it also offers discounted upgrade to Traktor Pro 3. I cannot confirm if this is definitely right or wrong, but seemed no cost between Pro 2 and Pro 3, it just did it . Hope that helps.
