Kontakt 8 Stability Compared to Kontakt 7

I've been plagued with crashes in Kontakt 7 (which usually takes out Cubase too) and have been unable to get any stability with it. I know others have used the various guidelines here and found success but I've never been that lucky. My question is whether Kontakt 8 has similar issues, or whether we're seeing pretty consistent stability throughout? I know it's early days, but I would jump to Kontakt 8 in a heartbeat if I had confidence that it was more stable than Kontakt 7.

It might help if you stipulate which OS, which processor, which Cubase version etc.. you're using. Because software stability can vary over differing permutations of these.

The only problem I ever experienced in Kontakt 7 was slow loading of some NI and 3rd party products. Overall it gave me a good and stable experience.

Windows 11, Cubase 13 (though it crashes consistently standalone). AMD CPU.

I was more curious if those who found Kontakt 7 prone to crashing also found Kontakt 8 to do the same.

Don't install Kontakt 8 yet. I'm on Ventura 13.7, and M2 Pro. Today, after I installed Kontakt 8, Komplete Kontrol in Logic crashed totally. I uninstalled Kontakt 8 and luckily I can use Komplete Kontrol again. NI needs to do a better job on a) testing the applications before they just let everyone install b) list clearly the system requirements and what software the new updates support. Last time I upgraded Komplete Kontrol and Kontakt7, and I couldn't work in Logic for 2 weeks…until they sent me the roll-back software. (T T)

In my experience so far, Kontakt 8 crashes more. I didn't encounter that many crashes with Kontakt 7, but with Kontakt 8 it seems like even just opening the GUI while a sound is playing can cause it to crash.
