I find that restricting myself to using only one instrument for different voices gives a nice coherent vibe to the song. For example, if you're composing some ambient music, using Ethereal Earth for all the different pads works better than using different pads from different tools.

Also, staying on the Komplete keyboard while browsing the presets tremendously helps in keeping the creative flow intact.
