Compatibility ended for komplete kontrol MK1 on Windows 11?
I've been having trouble with my KK S25 MK1 keyboard, despite taking very good care of it. Physically, it's almost like new, but when I connect it to my PC, I get a message saying that the device is not recognized. It doesn't even consider it as any kind of MIDI device, it just doesn't recognize it at all (see image below).
I've already checked the official page from last year which states that the software is no longer updated to support the MK1 generation and that I should stay on version 2.9.6 or lower, which I've done. Despite this, the problem persists. I also tried with a different MIDI cable and tried all the USB ports on my PC.
I'm wondering if this could be due to recent Windows 11 updates that may no longer be compatible with the Komplete Kontrol MK1 hardware or software?

I honestly think my Komplete Kontrol S25 has an internal problem. I tried everything (i think), the MK1 is old so maybe it was damaged, maybe the USB on the keyboard has a problem or some internal components, i don't know. My PC, the ports and the cables work fine with the other Native Instruments stuff that i have, so that's the only explanation I can think of.

This is some sort of hardware (USB) issue on your device.
MK1 devices are fully supported under Win 11 with KK v2.9.6.If it were me - I would start by examining your event log which should record any failed attempt to talk to the hardware.

The "DeviceSetupManager shows metadata error (event 131)" is a known issue , you can try and apply the fix from this page , scroll down on the page to where it says Answer with a green bar , but please backup computer registry or make a System Restore Point prior to any meddling with the registry.
With respect to the komplete kontrol MK1 driver problem itself then sorry I have no idea if the above is not of any help.

Sorry to learn that you were not able to fix the problem. But since it most likely is a Windows problem then maybe it is something that Microsoft ought to help with ? , Problem with that however appear to be that there is apparently no certain fix available and as such no help to get.
Had I had access to the computer myself and had I been annoyed enough I might have dug into the issue but as is there is really not anything other that I can do to try to assist. I will however place a screenshot of the settings on my own computer from that section of registry in case of the off chance that there should be something else there that is not set right.
Also it is suggested that you check that all system files is OK on your computer and that you do not have other strange problems.

That's too bad , I wish I had some advice to give but alas I do not other than maybe try asking in the Microsoft tech forum , though if I were you then I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a fix of the problem.
