my bad experience

I've never wasted more time than I did with the installation of the NI Kontrol S88. I encountered issues with the eLicenser, which I eventually had to remove. This entire experience feels unreasonable, especially since Native Instruments has its own independent software. If it conflicts with unrelated software, I can't justify the hassle. Even after removing the eLicenser, I continued to face errors with no clear solutions. Despite following all the troubleshooting steps provided on the website, the problems persisted. In the end, I resolved the issue: I'm returning the product.

Yes it's definitely a Steinberg issue, and nothing to do with Native Instruments or their products.

If Claudio had Googled the text displayed in that first image, he would have found posts (on the Steinberg forum) about the same thing, including a solution.

FWIW: eLicenser is - to my knowledge - a Steinberg licensing software.

There is no e-Licenser associated with installing the S88 ( or any NI keyboard)

Not sure what these errors are - but unlikely they are related to the S88.

Whatever it is, I am running Ventura 13.6.

I followed all the steps recommended by NI. A good software should just be installed without any problem.

I even removed the eLicenser. Still the scanning stops at some point.

The point is that if you produce and sell something, you have to provide support. NI does not do it.

Understood. However while there are thousands running their NI stuff just fine under Mac OS (any version) - there are also scores and scores of users who have specific trouble with MacOS - and it is not their fault specifically. Sometimes MacOS can be a bit temperamental and it is a challenge to figure out what is really going on.

I still do not understand where the errors you posted are coming from. Is this your DAW?

Your issue appears to be environmental to this specific machine and you would probably benefit more from logging a ticket with NI support.

They will have a better idea on how to tackle this problem.

It looks like Komplete Kontrol ran into an unlicensed Groove Agent library. I’m on Windows so I can’t give more specific help.
Steinberg is transitioning away from the eLicenser and most software has been ported to their new Steinberg Activation Manager software. Software will still work if it’s properly setup on the eLicenser though. You might try posting on the Steinberg forum or contacting Steinberg support.

Taking one last look at your error messages it almost looks like there is a problem with the eLicenser itself. Try plugging it into another USB port, preferably one directly on your computer, not a hub and see if that helps.

    What VocalPoint and SF_Green wrote….

I myself mostly am rather confused over the complaint about "the installation of the NI Kontrol S88" when nothing of what is on the supplied screenshots suggests that it is a N.I. specific problem and even if is then it completely fails to give any information as to why and under which circumstances other than the rather vague "the installation of the NI Kontrol S88" complaint. To me it looks a lot more as if it is a Steinberg software or Apple OS related problem more than something specific to the N.I. software.

If Claudio is so angry that he's going to leave, without even trying to figure out this mess, well that might be better for him. Yes, software should "just work", but sometimes poo happens. In this case, it's not the fault of the horse, and sometimes you just need to shovel out the stall and go take a shower. 😉

It seems that his computer maybe has some old unlicensed poo and maybe some other issues going far above and beyond anything Native Instruments' horses can be blamed for.

Open a ticket. Or clean out the stall, and THEN maybe try again. Giddyup! 🐎

TLDR: Clean up the old unlicensed software on your rig and try again. Or leave, and don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

    Okay, I'll leave now. 😉
