Mac OS 14 Sonoma Compatibility in 2024?

Hello!

Are there any potential updates coming towards full Sonoma compatibility?

I’ve been diligently referring to this page but there hasn’t been any update since April:

https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/13671802084765-macOS-14-Sonoma-Compatibility-Statement

Also curious if it’s possible to list out what is NOT currently compatible with OS14. I have so many different NI products that it’s difficult to gauge whether or not it’s worth updating now and rolling the dice.

Thanks so much!

Hi @Eklethe all NI products in Komplete 15 are Sonoma-compatible, except Battery 4. A compatibility update for Battery is coming in the next few months.

Just a heads-up though, older versions of some products might still run on Sonoma, even if our article says they don’t officially support it. That said, we can’t guarantee they’ll work perfectly. If you run into any issues with those versions, we may not be able to help out since they’re not officially supported.

    Hope that clears things up!

I would question the information on that page.

It states that the first version of Komplete Kontrol that was Sonoma compliant is 3.2.0. However, the previous version 2.9.6 functions perfectly on Sonoma and has the benefit of still working with NI's S1 keyboard range.

For me the issue isn't the various bits of software. It's that the new NI elements actively don't work with their older hardware. This basically then turns any older hardware into bricks, which isn't very helpful. It's a major reason why I won't be updating to Komplete 15 or Kontakt 8 unless NI offers some kind of replacement programme for hardware they've built that they don't support any more.

@Lionzinio yeah similar issues on my end too. Hopefully someone from the NI team can shed some light on the progress.

hi @Kaiwan_NI ! Thanks for your message. I haven’t upgraded yet, so does that compatibility extend to Komplete 14 as well?

And just so I have it right - only Battery 4 is incompatible at the moment? Can it run with Rosetta?

I have over 100+ NI expansions, plugins, applications etc so I just want to make sure before I take the leap. Thanks for your help!

In Native Access the latest Reaktor 6 release notes is shown as April 2023, with support for Ventura, MacOS 13. I've begun a project with it under OS 14.7.1, so far so good. It bothers me a little to see release notes a year and a half in arears. But then again, for instance NI reported Absynth 5's EOL 2 yrs ago at Big Sur OS and it works better than most things under Sonoma here.

Battery 4 is working perfectly, in VE Pro 7 latest v., connected to Cubase Pro 13.051, MacOS 14.7.1.
