Session Guitarist - Picked Acoustic Melodic - why does it play again when note ends?

I went through all the settings on this instrument but can't seem to find a way to stop it playing every note twice: once at the beginning and again slightly more muted when the midi signal ends. This doesn't happen if I play on a note on the keyboard so why does it happen when coming from a midi track?

Latch mode had no effect on this issue. What does latch mode actually do anyway? I did find the solution though to my issue. I needed to explicitly set the velocity to 0 to avoid the off noise. In Reaper, the midi editor by default leaves the off velocity unassigned. Apparently, most instruments do not need zero velocity to be set at the off point. Session Guitarist does though. Would have been good if this were mentioned somewhere. Was super annoying.

    Hello,

have you tried to go to the playback tab and set latch mode to 1/8 and pattern sync to note, and end the note a bit earlier.

The time you set there, is the time the pattern/phrase keeps playing after releasing the corresponding key
