Ozone Maximizer Boost & High Heardroom Values

I typically run with -12db headroom in the Traktor settings, since it provides a nice safety margin for 4-deck mixing and B2B mixing with redliners..😅

From what I have read and seen, I should set the boost of the maximizer to 12, i.e. the same as the headroom.
Does such a high boost value introduce any audio artifacts, pumping etc?

I ask because I have not seen any videos or posts of people using more than 6db for each setting.

I checked your post. One reply there linked to this:

Stating the the boost value should not exceed +6db.
Seeing how that post and pdf are two years old, is this still the prevailing advice?

I reckon +6db would be fine enough, as I can just turn up the master if needed.
    Unless I am overlooking something?

I've been asking this question myself.

But does the boost maximizer even kick in, in that case? Because you don't hit the threshhold.

Damn, I didn't think of that, thanks 😅

Maybe then the better question would be:

I occasionally use 4 decks and often do B2B mixing with a habitual redliner.

In the past I set the headroom to -12db in Traktor.

Does the ozone maximizer make that unnecessary?

Can I just use -6db headroom, set the maximizer boost to +6db and let the wonderful new maximizer handle the rest.

(I know one obvious answer would be to get the guy to stop pushing the volume 😂)
