Problem installing Native Access

edited October 2024 in Native Access

Hi

I'm on a Windows 7 - 64 Bit machine (still).

I've downloaded the legacy version of Native Access but it will not install. I get the "No compatible update" "download failed" box popping up and cant proceed any further. I've changed the proxy as suggested in the support notes on the website but still no joy. Any help would be much appreciated as I cant find an email for customer support on here. I just want to install the Big Fish Audio libraries I've just purchased!

Thanks

Dean

The "legacy" version of NA has been retired for two years and has not been maintained for a long while. And just because this version worked with Win 7 in the past - does not guarantee a working state here in Fall 2024.

Regarding the "why" - I will speculate (based by a growing count of "Win 7" items popping up on the forums in the last few days) that NI engineers are in the early stages of dismantling the old v1 Native Access pipeline heading for final shutdown in early 2025.

This is not definitive until NI says it is - but it would certainly not surprise me. (or anyone else for that matter)

Hello deanh, as Vocalpoint said, in some of the systems it can stop working due to the being stopped policy even before the actual Native Access 1.14.1's retirement date. The only way to solve this issue is upgrading your operating system as soon as possible

    I hope this helps☺️

Respectfully - Windows 7 has been unsupported by all vendors for over 4 years now.

And Native Access v1 is - for all intents and purposes - retired and has not been maintained for a long while now. A permanent shutdown is scheduled for Feb 2025.

For ongoing NI product support - you will need to upgrade to Windows 10 (at a minimum) and consider Native Access v3.13.0 or higher.

Yes I'm aware that it's outdated now. I am upgrading soon.

But the legacy version of Native Access is supposed to work with W7.

Just hoped someone could advise why it isn't working for me.
