Hi, I would like to buy the 2024 version of traktor control vinyl...

but before buying I need to know the weight of the vinyl (grams of vinyl without cover, just vinyl).

Because I already have the traktor MK2 vinylwhich weighs 160 grams (too heavy for me that I need a vinyl for scratching).

I need a control vinyl with a weight of 120g like serato scratch vinyl and other analogue vinyl for breaks and scratching...(which I weighed both and compared with traktor vinyl mk2).

Can you tell me the exact weight of the new traktor control vinyl 2024 edition? 160g or 120g?

Thanks for your support.

I've had so many different Traktor control vinyl in my hands over the years and can't say for sure anymore, but recently the transparent versions in red, blue and clear were the slightly "thinner" and therefore "lighter" versions.

I assume that this is still the case now. So for the new ones that would be pink, orange and red.

If you can go to a dealer near you who has them in their range and only buy them once you have them in your hands. I've always had bad experiences when I've ordered them from somewhere because they were often warped. This is also annoying when scratching because the contact surface and the resistance are different or the needle skips.

Thanks for your suggestion, unfortunately I don't have any dj shops in my town that have traktor vinyls...

I have searched the web but cannot find any information about the weight of the traktor vinyls ..

All the online shops that sell traktor mk2 and 2024 new edition vinyls none of them list the weight in the description..

I hope there is someone here in the community who can measure the weight of the new edition 2024 traktor vinyl (better if coloured version as you said, thinner and lighter, although my serato scratch live vinyls are not coloured but classic black, and one vinyl weighs only 120g like all analogue scratch vinyl pressings (e.g. dirtstyle records, thudrumble)

I also wrote to native instruments support to find out the weight of the traktor 2024 edition vinyl.

At the end, I'm not asking for such weird information... in fact they should write on the cover of the vinyl how many grams it is...

I hope at least native instruments has this weight information... otherwise they can always buy a scale and weigh the vinyl so they can answer my question. ;-D

I'm not at all surprised that NI / Traktor has always neglected such things and still does so.

Maybe @pARty_bOy can help you with the grammage of the new control vinyl?

Yes, it would be cool if you could update this thread with more information once you get a response from them. There are always people looking for this information.

I received a reply from the thomann service, to whom I had submitted the question, who weighed the vinyl and told me that it weighed 160g, so this vinyl is not for scratching, only for mixing music...

the new clear orange feel very light to me, like the legacy clear transparent, I think only the mk1 were 120g, the ones with the bullseye logo, they were thinner, the mk1 clear red feel lighter than the mk2 legacy clear red, same for the blacks mk1 vs mk2, the new red feel heavier than the black mk2. but I hadnt weighted any.

edit: my favourite traktor vinyl records for Juggling & Scratching are the mk2 legacy transparent red

I tried to put a few of mine on the scales this afternoon. But it was rather impractical because it's a small kitchen scale and I had to reset the zero point so that I could even put a record on it. I got +/- 140g for mine from the MK2 version in black / transparent (clear) / and the 20 Years Special Editions...

I'll definitely try it a little more carefully over the next few days and weigh all the colors I get my hands on.
