Unable to install "Hardware Connection Service", since it is not listed
Hello,
I am trying to make my Kontrol S61 MK3 work with my macbook pro m1pro (sonoma). But I am stuck at the step "install Hardware Connection Service", since this is not listed in Native Access at all.
I did the following steps:
- Install NI Access
- Upgrade firmware to 1.57 I think, the device still display "Add your serial ion Native access"
- Grant full disk access to Native Access app and NTKDaemon
- Enter serial from the hardware device screen into Native access
NI Access then also accepts the serial, but does not list "Hardware Connection Service" anywhere. So I cannot make this device work :(
Under my products and serials ( https://www.native-instruments.com/de/my-account/my-products-serials-downloads/ ) is only KONTROL S61 MK3 HW listed, but no serial for the "Hardware Connection Service".
How to fix this? I have the impression that NI Access is a software which does not really work well.
I also installed NI Komplete Kontrol, and also NIHardwareAgent and NIHostIntegrationAgent are running. Yet the device shows "add your serial to NI Access".
Is there a direct link to the "Hardware Connection Service" installer?

It seems to took some time, like 2 hours, until the Hardware Connection Service is now listed / the registration was processed. I have no idea what I did change.
Maybe you could also provide a direct download link for the Hardware Connection Service at your support pages, because NI Access is quite confusing and the sparse documentation misleading, or at least not helping, if something unexpected is happening.1

The fact that you have added your serial to NA2 (you are using NA2, right, not NA1?) and that it is not updating to show Hardware Connection Service, suggests a Native Access bug.
@Jeremy_NI any thoughts?

Hello
I just installed the Native Access application. I have the same exact issue as the users above. The Hardware Connection Service does not show in the Applications´ tab. I have waited approximately 9 hours since the installation of the application and the registration of the Komplet Kontrol M32 (done in the app)So, waiting for me did not do the trick, and the issue with Native Access seems still to be there.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks in advance1 -
Hello,
Same issue here. I bought th Komplete Kontrol M32, followed the setup guide but the Hardware Connection Service doesn't show up in the Applications tab. It's been 3 days since I got stuck at this point, so it's not a matter of time. I'm working on a Macbook Pro M2 Pro Sonoma 14.5 with the latest version of Native Access, which should be perfectly compatible.
It is frustrating not to be able to use the product and it is affecting my workflow.
Has anyone found a solution for this issue? Do I need to contact someone to be provided with a direct download for the Hardware Connection Service? Do we know if NI is trying to solve this problem or do I have to wait for the next Native Access update stuck with a piece of hardware I can't properly use?
Thanks

Sorry guys, I have no idea why then later the hardware connection service popped up in the available software list later… I thought it was a server timing issue. I guess only NI can fix this finally.
But I also contacted the support, and they gave me a direct download link to the Hardware Connection Service, sadly only a temporary download on a file sharing service.
Maybe first install all available software related, then wait some hours and hope that Hardware Connection service will popup.
@Native Instruments: I guess it would be better, if you were also providing always a direct link to the Hardware Connection Service in recent version within your public support documents.0
