Cloudflare box tick human check is looping on Firefox

I'm having to use Chrome to type this instead of my usual Firefox, as this morning I'm getting a Cloudflare screen asking me to tick a box to verify I'm human, but when I do so, it never verifies. It just asks me to tick the box again.

Windows 11 / Firefox 128.0.3

Im on FF/ Linux Mint and my (very annoying) tick box verifies OK. Havent had it doing what you describe (yet???). My FF version is a bit earlier than yours, if that helps any.

While Im at it, I'll might as well mention I dont like the way this forum is forcing you to disable stuff just to get onto the board and view anything. The old board had none of that…. and this latest fiasco of having to jump through hoops is extremely annoying. Captchas are a scam anyway.

This is a normal Cloud Flare security query because there were spam bot posts here in the forum a few days ago.

This query does not only appear here in the forum, and also works normally, regardless of whether you use Google Chrome on desktop or mobile, even with uBlock origin and pihole adblocker active.

Check that you have the latest version of Firefox and that there are no extensions blocking anything.

If all conditions are met, it is best to open a bug report with Mozilla.

I've managed to resolve it now. It was related to Firefox somehow, as I reinstalled the previous version, which reset everything, and am now back on the latest version.

Yes, with Firefox the profile can sometimes get corrupted, usually it is enough to delete the profile if something like that happens.

Then nothing has changed in all these years and it will probably never be as stable/robust as Chrome and Co.

Update: Messing around trying to get my browser back to the way it was before reverting, the same issue cropped up again. Doing some research on Google, some people had found that it was one of their extensions causing it.

If I disable all my extensions the problem goes away. Now to find which extension is guilty.

Would be interested which extension is the issue. I get this message each time I come to forums…

"Please unblock challenges.cloudflare.com to proceed." I have to allow an iframe as well. Then I get the captcha click on the checkbox and Im in.

As I hinted at, it isn't just down to one extension that everyone happened to be using. Each person solved it by disabling an extension, but the extension varied.
