Hi all,

I'm asking here because NI Chat Assistant is just a trap, once you for any reason you screw to get contact with the person you are stuck with the chat forever and no way to quit apparently.

Anyway, my problem is per the question above, I have no idea what happened to the setting up I used for years of my Guitar Rig 6, but it seems impossible to get rid of the massive noise and I got a feedback sound as soon as I start the app, no matter if the guitar is plugged in or not:

In the picture above, for example, I just started the app and you can see the massive noise and feedback I got and it's the same on every effects in the app.

I tried to:

  • check my audio preferences, but they are still the same
    • I played though my audio's interface M-AUDIO Air to change buffer and sample rate, but nothing change
  • I played with the volume of the OUT and the noise GATE, accordingly to official video about the topic, but nothing, no combination fix the issue.
  • I uninstalled and reinstalled Guitar Rig 6 multiple times, trying also to delete every directory, in case o cache or settings that remains even after the uninstall process and nothing worked.
  • I checked and updated every driver I got that is related to sound of my laptop and nothing.
  • I installed another software and it worked fine, no noise, no feedback, nothing.
  • I installed Guitar Rig 7 demo and it worked fine, no noise, no feedback, nothing.

So, what else can I do to try to fix this damn issuse, it's so annoying.

I am at your disposal for further infos or pictures.

Finally I figured out what happened. What caused the feedback all the time was the Fork enabled in the Tuner section:

Disabling the Fork stopped the obnoxious feedback sound. I never used it and I genuinely do not even know what is it, but probably, living with 4 cats, I guess someone of 'em walking on keyboard or mouse activated it.

What I found strange is that even resetting or uninstalling and reinstalling the app kept the configurations. This is truly weird.

    Hello,

can you test with inputs set no none, just for research even if you already played with the gate. With those high gain amps a little sound can get very loud. And what is your audio settings look like.

I tried a bit and I have absolutely no idea where this could come from, as far as I know there is no way in gr to create a feedback loop in itself. Sorry - but in that case the best way is to contact native support directly maybe. Have you another audio interface to test even only an onboard sound?

    Hi Uwe,

again thank you very much for your patience and answer, I really appreciated.

I tried to contact the assistance through the NI Chat Assistant, but appears to be one lifetime use, there are no options to quit the chat or refresh it in order to make another question.

I hope that will be hope to find a solution to this really strange problem.

Interesting and good you found out, as I'm not a guitar player, I would have never found it. So that "noise" is just a reference sound to tune your instrument, for comparison.
