Any Word on New Hardware?

Hey all, with the release of Traktor Pro 4, has anyone seen or heard rumors of New Hardware? My Kontrol S4 MK3 is in bad shape from 5 years of constant gigging and traveling and I would like to buy a new one.

If a refreshed MK3 or a new MK4 is on the horizon i'll just wait on it. Also if a New F1 or D2 are coming id be interested in those as well.

Rumors about new NI devices are pretty worthless. NI has proven again and again that they only release info, and unmistakably at that, when they are actually releasing a device a short time later.

Anything you will hear from anybody here will most likely be assumptions based on past or current NI behaviour. It's like sunrise on the moon. Bam. Nothing on the horizon until it hits you.

In my humble opinion, the current MK3 all in one controllers will not get an overhaul. There are still stocks to sell and the devices are perfectly workable and, with some mapping and modding, extremely versatile. The 'recently' released X1MK3 makes a new modular device more likely than anything else.

Although many cry for an updated F1 or D2, both are awesome devices, rugged and very functional, there is not much to add, honestly. Best in this regard would be a re-run with the firmware and functionality expanded, which many modders have proven to be 'easily' workable.

If you like all in one, get your S4 repaired or buy a new/refurbished one. I bought mine day one and cared for it well. Although it's bruised somewhat it still does it's job and i wouldn't want a new version. Anything i don't like about it could have been addressed by NI on the software side, the hardware is a-ok.

Thank you for your response, I do love the S4 MK3 and does everything I need, I'll need to buy a new one or refurbished one. My cross fader is dead and all my other faders are ghost fading a bit. It's functional but I'm due for a new one as repairing it would cost about half as much or closed to a refurbished one.

So I'll hang tight until about October, if nothing is announced I'll just grab a new MK3 and a used F1 or D2, if I can find one at a reasonable price by then lol.

Support for all devices you listed has been pratically extended due to TP4. Can't go wrong with any of them, they are awesome and F1/D2 are durable. Just take care not to break or scratch the screen. :D

I'm old-school X-Files Mulder: Trust No One. NI have a track record of keeping tight-lipped until a new device is ready to release. Beta testers of releases are tight-lipped. Let's be patient and continue to enjoy the new lease of life in our F1, D2, S5, S8 or whatever we're currently using…
